Located 29 kilometres off Jutland’s west coast in Denmark and spanning a massive 88 square kilometre area, Horns Rev 3 will consist of 49 Vestas turbines and will have the capacity to generate 406.7MW, enough power to supply 425,000 Danish households annually.
Horns Rev 3 generated its first power on the 23rd December 2018, exporting power for the first time just in time for Christmas.
EDS HV Group has been appointed to act on behalf of Vattenfall at Horns Rev 3 (HR3) as high voltage (HV) consultants.
EDS are providing engineering consultancy during the installation phase of the project. This includes pre-site engineering support, HV system review, high voltage safety management and consultancy support.
Morten Birk Jochimsen, Commissioning Manager at Vattenfall and appointed electrical safety person at HR3 said:
“We are happy to continue the good work with EDS also during our HR3 project. The cooperation in the past has proven EDS focuses with us on the safety of the work environment and we together continue our efforts on improvements.”
