High voltage engineering specialist, EDS HV Group (EDS) has successfully completed installation, termination and testing work for cable manufacturer Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable Co., Ltd. (ZTT) on the EnBW Hohe See project.
EDS, which is part of the UK’s leading marine services company – James Fisher and Sons plc, helped to establish a cable connection between Hohe See, a 497MW offshore windfarm in the German North Sea, and the high-voltage direct current (HVDC) offshore grid system BorWin3 developed by TenneT.
Javis C. Sim, Global Head Business Development at ZTT, said:
“The complex TenneT Hohe See project and journey ended on a high note of a job well done for all of the proficient partners, including EDS in delivering the expected”
Following the completion of onshore works earlier this year, EDS has now completed offshore installation, termination and testing of the platform cable, which demanded the high levels of skill and professionalism expected by the complex offshore wind industry.
Paul Ayre, project manager at EDS, said:
We are proud to have successfully completed our offshore scope of work on this project, bringing the job to completion following our onshore scope last year. EDS integrated seamlessly with the other teams on the project and we were pleased to share our expertise and experience.”
