EDS HV Management’s HV Support Services Contract Extended by Vattenfall.
Existing contract extended for another 3 years.
High Voltage Engineering Specialists EDS HV Management has had their HV Support Services contract extended by Vattenfall for a further 3 years.
The contract will see EDS offering a wider range of services than previously, taking in more sites including the 400kV substation at Pen y Cymoedd. As well as managing Vattenfall’s High Voltage network 24/7 through its control centre, EDS will also offer HV support during the construction phase of projects. They will also offer consultancy on asset management, helping to ensure that Vattenfall’s high voltage equipment meets or exceeds its asset life.
Ryan Henderson, Group Director at EDS said:
“Our strategy is to recruit permanent staff wherever possible rather than using contractors, something we believe is critical to the growth and success of the industry. This contract win will contribute to that strategy, creating an additional 10 British jobs.
“We are pleased to continue building upon our excellent relationship with Vattenfall, and we are delighted that the scope of the contract has been widened further, reflecting Vattenfall’s confidence in our ability and expertise.
“EDS are proud to be part of a growing and competitive UK supply chain that is contributing towards the growth of a world leading offshore wind sector.”
